Guest Posting from The Genealogy Insider:

I found a fascinating biography online entitled “Windows In Time” by Roxanne Anton. The book is about her family and growing up in the years of the Great Depression and World War II. It is, as she states, a memorial to her parents and the family heritage of their descendants.

Roxanne shares personal memories of growing up in a household with her parents and siblings. Her father would recite poems. Her mother would sing the children to sleep.

In the book, she included her mother’s memories of growing up in an old English household, getting married, and raising ten children. Roxanne and her mother tell a great story of their lives. The book is a beautiful recital of their family history, including the good and bad experiences.

In genealogy, “Windows In Time” is what is called printing and narrating your family history. I thought this to be a great idea, so I published my first family history book online. Many websites offer this service, including Ancestry.com.

When you create a family history online, other people have the chance to view it at any time. You do not have to worry about printing numerous copies of the same book. You need only supply the web address to your relatives and friends so that they can access it.

Another bonus to having an online family history book is that you and your relatives can add information to it. It is like building your family tree, but with shared memories and experiences.

If you have other biographies that you would like to list, please use the comments section on my website. I would love to hear what you think of the online family history book, also.
